EMS Weekend

Just a reminder to everyone that we will be having our EMS weekend celebration at the Ludlow Health center from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, May 23rd. Meet at the station at around 9am to get organized and make sure everything is ready. I will be sending out an email to let everyone know. The more the merrier. Let's make this one a good one. Below is an image of the flyer that we will be running in the newspaper and on LPCtv.

Please feel free to email me at cbassett@uvm.edu and let me know if you would like to head up any of the selected events for the day, or just to let me know that you will be there for your squad.

Some March News

Just a reminder that there is a business meeting on the March 12th, Thursday at 6:30 pm at the station.

Also, the Starboard is up and we have one superstar, you know him, you love him, John Cassidy himself has earned a special place. Feel free to nominate individuals who have done something extra special or extra funny (as long as no patient harm was done :) and I will review it and see about putting it up! The board is right near the office door, and suggestions can be emailed to me at cbassett@uvm.edu or left in my mailbox or on the office desk or even write a comment on this post with a suggestion.

Look forward to seeing you all soon.

Member News

A hardy get well soon to our fellow LAS member and AmeriCorps volunteer, Colin Bassett. Colin decided he wasn't getting enough attention so decided to personally test out our new ambulance going both to SHED and also to Dartmouth. Bob Fortuna decided to demonstrate how smoothly the rig took the bumps on Rte 10 and made a personal effort to try to hit each one while Colin scored the hits. Seriously, we're all thinking about you and hope that you get out of Dartmouth real soon, even though it's fun to watch those helicopters! Feel better!!!! Get well!!!!

Also, get well wishes go out to Jordan Davis, Karen and Jim's 2 year old daughter who is recovering from a nasty bout of ....well, it's a HIPPA thing but all our best wishes go out to the Davis's.

A Happy 10th birthday to Bailey Matteson. Bailey turned 10 this past Wednesday, Jan. 21.

Congratulations to Carol Johnson for passing her FR test this past Friday. Way to go, Lady!

More belated congratulations go out to the following trainees for passing their FR tests as well in 2008 (in order, I hope): Becky and Beth Blodgett (this past summer), Terry and Bob Fortuna (the fall), Al Poirier (December). Colin Basset also passed his EMT-B test in August of this past year. There were a lot of great milestones to celebrate!
